Bowles House Renovation _ 1,500sf

Designed for a local Raleigh Architect, this whole house renovation centers around the living room, dining room, and kitchen, which were formally partitioned by interior walls. Existing roof trusses allowed for opening up the space to provide sweeping views to the backyard, where chickens, cats, and dogs roam freely. The ceiling is pierced with a grid of skylights that flood the space with natural light and fleeting views to the treetops on either side of the house. A wood screen acts as a backdrop to the living space, catching light throughout the day from skylights and adjacent windows.
